On the 2nd and 3rd May 2019, TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann, Junior Director Jean-Francois Laurent and Business Development Manager Keri McDonald travelled to London, UK, for various meetings to discuss an array of opportunities within the Sport for All Movement, as well as innovative collaborative ways to make the world a better place through Sport for All.

The initial meeting took place with representatives from Laureus Sport for Good – headed by Chief Executive Andy Griffiths – with interesting discussions and ideas being shared on a working partnership between the two organisations. Next, TAFISA was hosted at Westminster Parliament in the House of Lords by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson in her capacity as the Chair of ukactive. This was a great opportunity to connect TAFISA to the Sport and Physical Activity Movement within the UK. The third meeting was with David Portas, Managing Partner, and his team at Portas to further discuss the crossover of scope of work and geographic regions which both entities are presently operating within. And lastly, TAFISA was welcomed to Marlborough House to meet Layne Robinson (Head of Social Policy Development Section) from the Economic Youth and Sustainable Development Directorate in the Commonwealth Secretariat - and his colleagues from the Sport for Development and Peace team -  for discussions regarding sport and the SDGs amongst other key focus areas to develop the global Sport for All Movement.

TAFISA is happy to experience the strong interest of renowned stakeholders for collaboration with the ultimate goal to strengthen the global Sport for All Movement.
