New Year President's Greetings

New Year President's Greetings

22 December 2017

Season's Greetings

Dear TAFISA members, colleagues and friends,

Thank you for making 2017 such a positive, productive and memorable year. With your support, TAFISA has been able to grow in so many different directions. The 25th TAFISA World Congress in Seoul, Korea welcomed more than 500 participants from 90 countries worldwide. This is a historic achievement that depicts how far TAFISA has developed over the years. Our new Mission 2030 has already been signed by some 50 organisations and will pave the road to making the world a better place through Sport for All by 2030. It is a milestone in the global Sport for All movement to have a united mission bringing all forces together to tackle our society's challenges.

We have built on our successes on all continents, working together with our members to pursue our efforts in Europe and Asia and to reach out to Africa, the Americas and Oceania, developing new partnerships with exciting projects and opportunities. We have strengthened our network and cooperation with international bodies, including the IOC, European Commission, UNESCO, WHO, ASEAN, Designed to Move, among others.

I am incredibly proud and humbled to be with the leadership team of such a great organization and global family, and look forward ever-so-much to what 2017, and beyond, has to bring. The 1st TAFISA European Sport for All Games to take place in Leeuwarden, Netherlands on August 3-7, 2018 will be a vibrant and colourful display of cultures and Traditional Sports and Games, and I expect many delegations from the European continent but also beyond to attend and showcase their history and traditions.

On behalf of the TAFISA Board of Directors and office team, I wish you all a wonderful, relaxing and happy holiday season, and look forward to joining you next year on our mission towards a better world through Sport for All.
