TAFISA Board Meets in Tokyo, Japan

The TAFISA Board of Directors held its first meeting of 2019 in Tokyo, Japan. From May 22 to 26, Directors from all over the world gathered at the Toshi Centre Hotel, the venue of the upcoming TAFISA World Congress (13 to 17 November 2019), to discuss the TAFISA roadmap & strategy 2019-21.

Highlights included the announcement of the 1st TAFISA Asian Sport for All Games 2021 and signature of Memorandum of Understanding with the host, the Ulsan Metropolitan City, Korea, as well as meetings with the 26th TAFISA Congress (Tokyo, Japan) and 1st TAFISA World Martial Arts Festival (Ulyanovsk, Russia)  Organising Committees and Press Conference to announce the 26th TAFISA World Congress and joint event with Smart Cities and Sport Summit to the global media. High-level meetings were held with the World Union of Olympic Cities’ Secretary General Ms. Mélanie Duparc, Japan Sports Agency’s Commissioner Prof. Daichi Suzuki and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

The year of 2019 promises to be very exciting with the Congress and Martial Arts Festival organisations that are well under way and will offer TAFISA Members and stakeholders with new opportunities of experience sharing.

The next TAFISA Board Meeting will take place in Ulyanovsk on 14 September 2019.
