An online Certified Leadership Course (CLC) for Sport for All will be organised by The African Union Sports Council, Region 5 (AUSC Region 5) in collaboration with TAFISA starting July 15th. The course will be distributed over eight weeks to total 32 hours of online training until September 11th.

This online programme is an internationally accredited course aimed to equip the current and would-be Sport for All practitioners with the relevant skills and competencies to assist them to effectively deliver community-based sport for all programmes.

When the course was officially launched, AUSC Region 5 CEO Stanley Mutoya commented "As part of our consciousness to the effects of the current pandemic, we have had to waiver the course fees and will, therefore, offer this course free of charge for the 2020 intake. This is our contribution to the cause of Sport For All as we know the impact it will make in the ordinary lives of our people

The course will gather 20 participants; two from each of the AUSC Region 5 Member Countries, which are Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia. South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It will empower participants with knowledge and experience transfer opportunities as well as the development of English and presentation or public speaking skills. It is also meant to give participants an opportunity to showcase local or national initiatives. Participants in the CLC will receive a Certificate of Completion, signed by both AUSC Region 5 and TAFISA, documenting their successful completion of the course.

TAFISA Certified Leadership Courses in Sport for All were developed to train and qualify national Sport for All leaders around the globe.
