Dear TAFISA members, colleagues and friends,
Thank you for making 2018 such a positive, productive and memorable year. With your support, TAFISA has been able to grow in so many different directions. The TAFISA Mission 2030 has received support of signatories from over 50 countries worldwide and its political message is being heard at the top level. This is a historic achievement which paves the road to making the world a better place through Sport for All by 2030. The 1st TAFISA European Sport for All Games which took place in Leeuwarden, Netherlands successfully gathered many delegations from Europe and beyond to promote their Traditional Sports and Games and culture.
We have built on our successes on all continents, working together with our members to pursue our efforts in Europe and Asia and to reach out to Africa, the Americas and Oceania, developing new partnerships with exciting projects and opportunities. We have strengthened our network and cooperation with international bodies, including the IOC, European Commission, UNESCO, WHO, ASEAN, among others.
I am incredibly proud and humbled to be with the leadership team of such a great organization and global family, and look forward ever-so-much to what 2018, and beyond, has to bring. The 1st TAFISA World Martial Arts Festival to take place in Ulyanovsk, Russia on September 13-17, 2019 will be a vibrant and colourful display of martial arts and cultures, and I expect many delegations to attend and showcase their history and traditions. The 26th TAFISA World Congress which will take place in Tokyo, Japan on November 13-17, 2019 will gather over 500 participants from more than 80 countries, bringing together Sport for All stakeholders from all fields and sectors, including International NGOs, Sport Ministries, National Olympic Committees, Sport for All Organisations and International Federations.
On behalf of the TAFISA Board of Directors and office team, I wish you all a wonderful, relaxing and happy holiday season, and look forward to joining you next year on our mission towards a better world through Sport for All.
