TAFISA, the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) and Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) co-hosted a virtual Active City Capacity Building Workshop on 22 and 24 March.

On 22 March, African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 hosted a Webinar on "Coping with COVID-19 - The Future is in Women's Hands, Practical Solutions", inviting speakers to share their personal experiences about the challenges they are facing in sport and ways to overcome them.

On Wednesday 24 March, TAFISA had the privilege to lead a session as part of Sport Management Council of the Philippines' first virtual international conference for Sport for Women’s Empowerment and Employment Programme (SWEEP).

You are invited to join the premiere of the Sports, Medicine and Health Summit from the 20 – 24 April. The virtual summit will focus on sports, exercise and health, with a special emphasis on strengthening interdisciplinary exchange. 

TAFISA Member International Dance Organization (IDO) will be hosting a Webinar on Thursday 25 March. The IDO Webinar "The Challenges for the Management of Sports Organisations during COVID-19" is designed to provide participants with an introduction to the many issues that have been seen and experienced during the past year, while looking ahead with hope and optimism towards a brighter future for all.

The TAFISA Board of Directors convened for two board meetings, on 26 February and 15 March, to discuss current issues. 

Among other decisions, the board set the course for TAFISA's activities for the year to come, pre-approved new organisations as TAFISA members and reviewed future opportunities for the organisation. 

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Ms Kiyoko Ono, former President of Sasakawa Sports Foundation and Vice President of TAFISA-JAPAN, on 13 March 2021, at the age of 85.

On 16 March, TAFISA representatives including Vice-President Peter Barendse, Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann and Board Members Dionysios Karakasis and Janez Sodrznik, met with Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture Education and Youth.

The very first workshop of the TAFISA Mission 2030 Workshop Series took place on 8 March in celebration of International Women’s Day. Held in partnership with the ITTF Foundation, this inaugural Workshop on "Girls & Women Empowerment in Sport for All" addressed the issue of Gender Equity. Over 150 participants from all corners of the world joined the online event. 

On 2 March, TAFISA hosted the first ever virtual meeting between the FLOT project partners, mentors, and mentees. This pivotal meeting gave the opportunity for everyone involved in the project to come together for the very first time, get to know one another and discuss the progress of the project so far as well as future plans and upcoming activities.
