TAFISA Board Meets in Macao, China

On 14 - 15 March, the TAFISA Board of Directors held its first physical meeting of 2024 in Macao, China, hosted by the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government. This gathering provided an opportunity for discussions surrounding the TAFISA roadmap and strategic direction for the forthcoming years.

Following the productive Board Meeting, the 17th ASFAA Congress convened, offering an exceptional platform to engage with members and explore this year's theme of the Congress: "Strengthening Family Relationships through Sport for All". The Congress commenced with a warm welcome from TAFISA President, Wolfgang Baumann, setting the tone for the discussions ahead. TAFISA Secretary General, Jean-François Laurent, then delivered an inspiring keynote speech titled “Bridging Generations: Unlocking the Potential of Sports for All”, emphasizing the impactful transformative power of intergenerational approaches.

Following this, a panel discussion was moderated by Gaetan Garcia, where TAFISA\'s Board of Directors, including Catherine Forde, Cathy Wong, Jacqueline Kronenburg, and Masanori Tamazawa, led discussions, sharing examples and best practices. TAFISA Vice President and Secretary General of ASFAA, Herzel Hagay, also delivered a speech on “How to strengthen family relationship through Sport for All”.

On Sunday 17 March, the Board members joined the annual 10K race and 5km Fun Run. Starting at Sai Van Lake Square and concluding at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium, the event not only promoted physical activity but also fostered a sense of unity and collaboration among participants.
