TAFISA President Baumann and OPES APS (Organisation for Sport Education) President Morico met in Rome on 12 November 2025. A new TAFISA member since 2024, OPES APS is recognised by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI). The organisation promotes and organises non-profit sporting, cultural, social promotion, voluntary, training, and recreational events and projects at local, national, and international levels, with the aim of fostering integration, social inclusion, and education, ultimately generating tangible benefits for communities.
The meeting was an opportunity for TAFISA and OPES APS to exchange views and discuss potential future projects, including "Give Sport a Say." Led by OPES APS with support from the European Union, Give Sport a Say aims to engage citizens across Europe in discussions on promoting democracy and human rights in and through sport, as well as on the future of EU sport policy. As a partner, TAFISA will mobilise its upcoming events - including the 29th TAFISA World Congress 2029- to raise awareness among European participants on this important topic.
The meeting was also attended by Sara Massini, OPES APS Head of European and International Affairs and Cooperation, and André Urban, Project Manager.
