German Federal Government

As part of the German Federal Government, the "Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community" ("Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat") is responsible for a broad range of topics including sport and social cohesion, among others. The BMI supports various national and international programs and initiatives that make use of sport and physical activity to promote health, social inclusion, tolerance, respect, and volunteerism.

German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB)

The German Olympic Sports Confederation ('Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund', DOSB) is the non-governmental umbrella organization of German sport. It was founded on May 20, 2006, resulting from the merger of the German Sports Confederation (DSB) and the National Olympic Committee for Germany. Along with being a founding TAFISA member, the DOSB remains a strong supporter.

Nike

Nike, Inc. is a global leader of the sporting goods industry and a firm believer in the power of sport to move the world. Through various programs, they are committed to helping kids reach their greatest potential and creating more equal playing fields for all. The Made to Play initiative aims toachieve this goal and TAFISA is working together with Nike, Inc. to make it a reality.

European Commission

The European Commission is the executive of the European Union and promotes its general interest, including promoting and supporting opportunities for Europeans participate in Sport for All and physical activity. TAFISA and the Commission have been working closely together for many years, including on cooperative projects on Health Enhancing Physical Activity, SportCityNet, Project Recall, the European Week of Sport Toolbox, and many others. TAFISA also holds a seat on the European Commission's High Level Working Group on Grassroots Sport.

SportBox

SportBox is a low-threshold rental service for sports- and play equipment. With innovative boxes, you can provide your communities with equipment free of charge, such as basket balls, footballs, boules balls or fitness training equipment. So the sports equipment is exactly where it is needed and accessible to stimulate Sport for All.

Partners

International Olympic Committee (IOC)

TAFISA and the IOC share a long standing cooperation emphasized by the IOC's official recognition of TAFISA, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations for the further development of selected TAFISA programs, TAFISA's seat on the IOC Olympism365 Commission, and the IOC's patronage of many TAFISA programs and events.

World Health Organization (WHO)

TAFISA and the WHO have enjoyed a mutually beneficial working relationship for many years, which has included cooperation on TAFISA publications and the WHO's Europe's Healthy Cities program.

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

TAFISA and UNESCO have been active partners for many years, highlighted by TAFISA's seats on the Permanent Consultative Council (PCC) and International Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS). UNESCO has also been patron to many TAFISA events.

International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)

TAFISA and ICSSPE are established partners, having initiated the Global Coalition for an Active World together. TAFISA President,  Mr Wolfgang Baumann, also held the elected seat of ICSSPE Vice President for long, and ICSSPE has been patron to many TAFISA events.

European Non-Governmental Sports Organizations (ENGSO)

TAFISA and TAFISA Europe both appreciate a positive, working relationship with ENGSO. In 2010, TAFISA and ENGSO solidified their relationship by signing a memorandum of understanding to seek further opportunities for practical cooperation.

International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS)

IAKS is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization operating in the field of sports and leisure facilities. TAFISA and IAKS signed an MOU in 2010 for cooperation regarding facilities for Sports for All.

Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity Netherlands

Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity Netherlands (Kenniscentrum Sport & Bewegen in Dutch) aims to strengthen the impact of sport through better use of knowledge and to increase the level of knowledge about sport and physical activity. Kenniscentrum Sport & Bewegen is both a member and partner of TAFISA, most notably hosting the 23rd TAFISA World Congress in 2013 (at the time the organization was known as NISB).

African Union Sport Council Region5 (AUSC Region5)

The African Union Sport Council Region 5 (AUSC Region 5) is the sports arm of the African Union, in the southernmost tip of Africa. Its main aim is to use sports to achieve peace, integration, and unity in Region 5's ten countries, using sport as a vehicle to encourage people to develop and come together irrespective of color, economic status, political beliefs, class, or gender.

Foundation for Sport, Development, and Peace (FSDP)

The Foundation for Sport, Development, and Peace (FSDP)'s vision is to promote, advocate, and facilitate an improved understanding and practice of sport and the application of Universal and Olympic values as tools for development, social change, and peace.

World Union of Olympic Cities

The World Union of Olympic Cities is the only association which brings together former and future Olympic host Cities. Through its network, Smart Cities & Sport, the Union offers a platform for cities to learn, share and connect.

Liverpool John Moore's University

Liverpool John Moore's University is one of the largest, most-dynamic and forward-thinking universities in the UK, counting over 23,000 students from over 100 countries world-wide.

Aspen Institute Sports & Society Program

The Aspen Institute, founded in 1949, is a global non-profit organization committed to realizing a free, just, and equitable society. The mission of the Sports & Society program is to convene leaders, facilitate dialogue, and inspire solutions that help sports serve the public interest and build healthy communities.

SmartCities & Sport

Established in 2014, smartcities & sport is an initiative that originates from the World Union of Olympic Cities which gathers former and future Olympic Host Cities. It has since expanded to cities interested in using sport as a platform for growth and development.

Université de Lorraine

With more than 3,700 teaching and research faculty and approximately 60,000 students, including nearly 8,000 foreign students, the Université de Lorraine (UdL) is one of France's largest multidisciplinary universities. Its location in the heart of Europe, with borders on three European member states (Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg) offers to UdL a privileged position for strong international partnerships.
