TAFISA Engages in Global Observatory for Gender Equality Activities in Lausanne

TAFISA Senior Manager Game Mothibi traveled to Lausanne to actively participate in the Global Observatory for Gender Equality (GO) lined-up activities. Her engagement began with the GO Advisory Board meeting on September 29th, where members reflected on the Observatory's priorities and secured renewed commitments and pledges for collaboration from partner organisations.

This was followed by the GO Annual Conference on 30th September, held under the theme "Connecting for Change." The conference emphasized the crucial importance of data-driven approaches in promoting gender equality, underscoring the vital role of evidence-based insights in informing effective strategies. A significant milestone of the event was the launch of the GO Knowledge Hub, an innovative platform designed to provide access to data, tools, and insights through interactive visualisations. This Hub aims to strengthen evidence, inform decision-making, and drive collective progress in the gender equality movement.

Concluding the engagements was the GO Expert Committee Meeting on the 1st October, which provided a platform for meaningful exchange and collaboration among experts. This forum fosters connections, facilitates mutual learning, and enhances access to specialist knowledge. Experts also convene knowledge-sharing initiatives and help bridge the gap between research and practice by ensuring evidence reaches policymakers and practitioners alike.
TAFISA's involvement reflects a continued commitment to promoting gender equality in and through Sport for All, while also contributing expertise to global platforms that shape inclusive, transformative, and sustainable change.
