TAFISA Meets German Federal Government

On 21 October 2025, TAFISA President Wolfgang Baumann was received by representatives of the German Federal Government at the Chancellery in Berlin, marking another milestone in a partnership that has endured since 2005.

The meeting comes following a significant governmental restructuring that saw the "Sport and Volunteerism" portfolio transferred from the German Ministry of the Interior to the Chancellery, placing it under the direct oversight of the Prime Minister. This portfolio is now managed by State Secretary Dr. Christiane Schenderlein, reflecting the elevated priority given to sport and voluntary engagement at the highest levels of government.

President Baumann, accompanied by TAFISA Secretary General Jean-François Laurent, met with Dr. Babette Kibele, Head of the Sport and Volunteerism Department at the Chancellery, along with Dr. Christoph Ehrentraut, Mr. Daniel Krüger, and Mr. Philipp Makulik. Discussions centered on strengthening future collaborations and advancing grassroots sports diplomacy-areas where both TAFISA and the German Federal Government share common goals and vision.

TAFISA extends its sincere gratitude to the German Federal Government for its continued and unwavering support over the past two decades, which has been instrumental in advancing the Sport for All movement globally.
