Knowledge Exchange Commission Meeting Advances Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

The latest meeting of the TAFISA Knowledge Exchange Commission (KEC) brought together experts and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and expand knowledge-sharing efforts in Sport for All. The session covered key updates, new initiatives, and forward-looking discussions that will drive the commission’s work in the coming months.

The meeting opened with updates from the previous session, including progress on the KEC Commission Page and the Knowledge Corner, as well as the involvement of KEC members in the TAFISA World Congress Program Committee. This was followed by an overview of the commission’s revised objectives, which emphasize resource-sharing, research collaboration, and active participation in upcoming events. Members were invited to contribute to the Knowledge Corner’s growing database and sign up for subgroups that align with their expertise.

A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of research by Mabliny Thuany on "Running for All," which explored inclusive approaches to increasing participation in physical activity. Additionally, Ben Jones introduced the concept of a connected digital ecosystem to support sports development, offering insights into how technology can enhance accessibility and effectiveness for community practitioners and policymakers alike.

Looking ahead, the KEC is committed to strengthening its external outreach through new resource-sharing initiatives, including bi-yearly Knowledge Corner updates featuring the latest research, event updates, webinars, and opportunities within the TAFISA network. Plans for participation in the TAFISA World Congress were also discussed, with members encouraged to contribute through research presentations, poster sessions, and training workshops.

As the commission continues to grow, its dedication to uniting researchers, practitioners, and policymakers remains at the heart of its mission. The next steps include further development of a webinar, expanding the resource library, and deepening engagement with KEC members to enhance collaboration across sectors.

The TAFISA Knowledge Exchange Commission (KEC) is a dynamic workgroup established to foster global collaboration among experts, practitioners, and organizational leaders in the Sport for All movement. Launched in 2024, the KEC serves as a platform for exchanging ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions to advance physical activity and sport participation worldwide.
