An international seminar on How to make young people more active? followed the opening of the European Week of Sport, focusing on the role of education, municipalities and sport organisations in encouraging youth participation. The seminar was attended by the European Week of Sport Partners and National Coordinating Bodies, under the leadership of European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics.

The event was complemented by a Conference on Safeguarding Children in Sport hosted the following day by Finland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, featuring keynotes and panels from international speakers on how to support children in sport and create a safe environment to prevent bullying, harassment and other forms of abuse in sport.

As a European Week of Sport Partner, TAFISA is proud to have been part of the Opening Ceremony in Espoo, which helped showcase how much the Week has grown in scale and impact since its inception in 2015 and its potential to make more Europeans #BeActive in the years to come.
