On the first day of the visit, a meeting with Hebei Yonghuai Institute, the first sports think-tank of China, was held in Beijing where TAFISA’s partnership in the field of Active Cities was discussed to further spread the Sport for All movement in China and beyond.

On April 24th, a field trip to Sport for All facilities in Wansheng District, located in the south of Chongqing in the southwest of China, was conducted. Wansheng is well known as an exemplary Active City and one of the most successful models in implementing the national fitness strategy, as nearly 60 percent of the population engage in various sports exercises in daily life. TAFISA President remarked that “visiting Wansheng and seeing people practising sports, I strongly felt the vitality and dynamic that sports brought into their daily lives."

During the Forum on April 26th, TAFISA President appreciated China's practise in promoting the national fitness movement across the country and called on the world to refer to the successful case of Active City Wansheng. The Forum continued with a keynote speech by TAFISA Secretary General delivering a presentation on the significance of the city setting and the Global Active City label.

TAFISA thanks the government of Chongqing Municipal, Wansheng District and Yonghuai Institute for their warm hospitality and looks forward to future collaborations to implement the Active City concept in China.
