On 28–29 September, the Global Observatory for Gender Equality & Sport (GO) held its annual conference in Lausanne, Switzerland. The event brought together more than 150 participants, including government representatives, researchers, UN agencies, International Sports Federations, associations and civil society leaders.
TAFISA was represented by Project Manager Osazemen Aghedo. The programme opened on 28 September with the GO Advisory Board meeting, where members shared progress on their gender equality and sport programmes and discussed future priorities for the Global Observatory.
The GO Annual Conference followed on 29 September under the theme "Measure to Matter," exploring how evidence shapes the formulation, implementation and impact of policy. Through keynotes, panels and parallel sessions, participants examined how to:
- Strengthen the connection between data, research and policy action
- Promote co-creation in research and policymaking
- Move beyond participation rates to capture experience, voice and long-term engagement
- Use financial data and measurement to track where resources flow, assess their impact, strengthen accountability and guide future investment
TAFISA's participation reflects its continued commitment to advancing gender equality in and through Sport for All, and to contributing its expertise to global platforms that drive inclusive, transformative and sustainable change.
