Munich Frisbee Festival Brings Flying Disc Sports to Everyone

The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) hosted the Munich Frisbee Festival from 30 July to 2 August 2026 in Munich, Germany, as a TAFISA Licensed Sport for All Event.

The festival showcased the many disciplines of Flying Disc Sports, offering newcomers the chance to learn and play, while elite athletes competed in the World Freestyle Flying Disc Championships in a lively festival setting.

Sport for All was at the heart of the programme. All community activities were free and open to everyone, with no formal registration required. Workshops, clinics and activities were designed to welcome persons with impairments, children and youth from low socioeconomic backgrounds, girls and women, and older adults.

Participants could try a wide range of disciplines, including Ultimate, Disc Golf, Freestyle, Double Disc Court and Wheelchair Ultimate. In the Wheelchair Ultimate sessions, people with and without disabilities learned to throw and work as a team before playing a game together, while a public putting course gave beginners an easy introduction to Disc Golf.

The festival welcomed 315 participants and more than 1,200 spectators. Around half of the participants were women and girls, and around 15% were aged over 60, showing that Flying Disc Sports can be enjoyed at every stage of life.

TAFISA congratulates WFDF on a successful event that shows how high-performance sport and Sport for All can thrive side by side.
