The annual joint session of the Council of Europe EPAS Governing Board and Consultative Committee was held on 27–28 May in Strasbourg, gathering representatives of governments, international sport organisations and youth delegates from all over Europe. Among the participants was also the newly elected President of TAFISA, Mr Janez Sodržnik. Before the meeting, the official "Youth Perspective for Safer and Healthier Sport" event took place from 25 to 27 May, where TAFISA was represented by young delegate Alisa Kiker, who is involved in the REACH project co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Sport programme.
This year's meeting particularly highlighted the importance of strengthening the "Youth Perspective" in sport, with young delegates actively contributing to discussions on creating safer, healthier and more inclusive sporting environments. Participants also exchanged views on preparations for the 19th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport in Monaco, alongside topics such as good governance and the autonomy of sport, ethics and integrity in sport, Safe Sport, inclusion and diversity, human rights in and through sport, artificial intelligence in sport, solidarity with Ukraine, sport conventions, and co-operation between the Council of Europe and the European Union.
During the joint meeting of the EPAS Governing Board and Consultative Committee, TAFISA President Mr Janez Sodržnik highlighted TAFISA's solidarity and support for Ukraine in the field of Sport for All. He also referred to the Certificate of Recognition awarded to the Agency for Mass Sports of Ukraine for their Active Country Project, acknowledging their outstanding work done to promote and develop Sport for All in adverse times marked by War. During the EPAS meeting in Strasbourg, he also met with representatives of Ukraine.
