On 10 - 11 April, TAFISA was well represented by TAFISA President Wolfgang Baumann, along with TAFISA Vice-President Denis Karakasis, from the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Greece, and Board Member Jacqueline Kronenburg, from the Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity, Netherlands, at the EU Sport Forum held in Krakow, Poland.
The Forum brought together nearly 350 participants from a wide range of sectors, including European institutions, sport federations, Olympic committees, and grassroots organizations. Throughout the event, attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue aimed at advancing the role of sport across Europe and beyond. The program featured dynamic sessions on key topics such as the role of sport in education, the rights and well-being of athletes, the piracy of live sport events, and upcoming opportunities under the future Erasmus+ program. Other timely discussions addressed foreign investment in European football, the impact of artificial intelligence in sport, and interactive exchanges focused on strengthening the European Sport Model, grounded in solidarity, values, and competitiveness. The Forum also explored how sport can act as a unifying force in the context of EU enlargement, highlighting its potential to build bridges between nations and communities.
The Forum came to a successful close, leaving participants inspired and equipped to advance the role of sport across Europe and beyond.
