The inaugural Olympism365 Summit, held in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 3 to 5 June, was a significant event for fostering global collaboration in sports. TAFISA Secretary General Jean-François Laurent and Senior Manager Game Mothibi were proud to participate alongside TAFISA’s Certified Leadership Course (CLC) hosts, Bedawi Gomez from the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Sport, and Rwemarika Felicite and Rugigana Jean Claude from the Rwanda National Sport and Olympic Committee. Their involvement highlighted the importance of CLC in the global Sport for All movement. The summit successfully brought together over 300 participants from more than 100 organizations worldwide, encouraging the exchange of ideas and best practices in promoting sport as a tool for sustainable development.
TAFISA contributed to the “Pitch Perfect” session, showcasing TAFISA’s SUCCEED Framework as a collective-action model for inclusive and impactful, sport-based capacity-building initiatives.
In total, 45 commitments were announced to harness sport as a tool for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). TAFISA reinforced its role by endorsing two key pledges:
“Nineteen sport and development organizations committed to operationalize a shared measurement approach to monitor and evaluate the reach and preliminary outcomes of over 100 sport for development initiatives across 80 countries using common and locally relevant indicators to enable both context-sensitive and scaled insight generation.”
“The IOC will provide online training on shared measurement of the impact of sport as an enabler of sustainable development, that will be integrated into the SUCCEED capacity-building framework managed by The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), and develop a sport for development monitoring, evaluation and learning capability assessment tool that will be made publicly accessible in collaboration with the International Platform on Sport and Development in 2026.”

Alongside the summit, TAFISA held strategic meetings with a range of stakeholders to deepen Sport for All collaborations and accelerate joint initiatives aligned with the TAFISA Mission 2030.
