It will be organised by the Olympic Committee of Slovenia - Association of Sports Federations (NOC-ASF) with the support of Sport Union of Slovenia (ŠUS) and under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.
The 26th TAFISA World Congress was held from 13th to 17th November 2019 in Tokyo, Japan, under the theme "Sport for All Through Tradition and Innovation"
In 2019, for the first time in history, TAFISA joined forces with Smart Cities and Sport for a unique joint event programme on November 14th between the TAFISA World Congress (November 13-17) and
the Smart Cities and Sport Summit (November 12-14).
TAFISA World Congresses are open to all Sport for All organisations and enthusiasts, TAFISA Members and non-members alike. The TAFISA General Assembly, at which TAFISA National Members set the agenda for TAFISA, forms part of the World Congress.
TAFISA Member Organizations and Municipalities* are welcome to bid to host a TAFISA Congress.
Applicants must present their bid to the TAFISA General Assembly, which selects the host through a democratic election four years in advance of each Congress. Bidding to host the 29th TAFISA World Congress in 2025 will open in January 2021, for a decision during the TAFISA General Assembly taking place in Portorož, Slovenia, October 2021.
