TAFISA, the Chinese General Sport Administration and the Active Well-being Initiative have partnered to organise the first-ever national Global Active City Forum in Suzhou, China, on November 22 – 24, 2018.

International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and leaders of the world's first Global Active Cities speak out about their support for the Active Well-Being Initiative's programme in a new video on our YouTube Channel.

"Giving the best of yourself' is a document that offers a Catholic perspective on sport published by the Dicastery of Laity, Family and Life. In a game, a person gives their very best and experiences satisfaction and the joy of accomplishment.  This document serves as a guide to help the reader understand the special relationship between these two worlds." The Document's title reveals the essence and the reason for the Church's interest and commitment to sports.

Hosted by the Iran Sport for all Federation (Khorasan Razavi Sport for All Association), the eighth TAFISA Certified Leadership Course in Iran took place in Mashhad on October 11-16, 2018.  Around 120 students joined the event from all over Iran.  The Iranian Sport for All Federation, under the leadership of its President Dr. Ali Majdara, and Vice-President and TAFISA Board Member Dr.

On October 30th in the city of Miami, United States, TAFISA and PANAM Sports held their first meeting and workshop for the development of the Americas Alliance for Sport for All. This first step has brought the two organisations together around potential projects and cooperative actions that will be taken in the near future.

The Walktober Challenge is a national walking event taking place throughout the whole month of October in Australia.
This challenge has been held every October since 2000 by the Bluearth Foundation with the objective to encourage people to get out and walk more often.

The scientific conference “Cubamotricidad”, organised by the Cuban Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) and with the support of TAFISA was officially opened on Monday October 22, in the “Ciudad Deportiva” of Havana City, headquarters of INDER.  

A TAFISA delegation led by TAFISA President Prof. Dr. Ju-Ho Chang who was accompanied by SAKA (Sport for All Korea Association) Vice-President Ms Sujee Choi and TAFISA Project Manager Gaëtan Garcia, joined the 7th International Sports Forum "Russia - Country of Sports" held in Ulyanovsk, Russia on October 10-12.  The Forum is a major event in the sports field, attracting several thousands of participants from all over Russia and abroad.  

TAFISA is happy to announce that this year the TAFISA World Walking Day has been a massive success with tens of thousands of participants from all around the world.

Among the most successful events were the following staged in Egypt, India and Turks and Caicos Islands.  

The world’s first Global Active Cities were honoured at an awards ceremony as part of the opening celebrations for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.
