Last year, Oaks partnered with Laureus Sport for Good, Beyond Sport, streetfootballworld and the International Platform on Sport and Development, to release the 2020 Fundraising in Sport for Development State of the Sector survey.

On 13 October, 110 participants from over 60 countries joined the online Workshop “Good Governance, Leadership, and Integrity”. This fourth event of the TAFISA Mission 2030 Workshop Series was held in partnership with Transparency International (TI) and the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). 

This Sunday 3 October 2021, the world connected as 86 countries joined the TAFISA World Walking Day - 24 Hours Around the Globe. 

Exactly 1 year before the event – scheduled on 23 – 29 September 2022 in Perugia and the region of Umbria, Italy, TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann and Junior Director Jean-Francois Laurent visited FIGeST – the Italian Traditional Sports and Games Federation and event host – to prepare for the event, which promises to be an unforgettable experience for all participants. 

On 22-24 September, TAFISA Board Members and staff were invited to Slovenia to attend various meetings and events.

On 22-23 September TAFISA Board of Directors Members visited Piran, Portorož and Ljubljana, Slovenia where a TAFISA Board Meeting was held. The special date of 23 September marks the Day of Slovenian Sport, a national holiday launched in 2020 following a proposal of TAFISA Members Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations, and Sport Union Slovenia.

From Monday 2 August to Wednesday 1 September 2021, the Sport for All Federation (SFA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosted the region’s inaugural IOC-supported TAFISA Certified Leadership Course (CLC). The course took place twice per week across five weeks and was held online due to COVID-19 restrictions.  

On Wednesday 1 September, TAFISA hosted the 8th Europe in Action project partner meeting. The partners have been meeting virtually every eight weeks which has provided pivotal moments for discussion regarding the various work packages and developments within the project. 

During a couple of drop-in sessions in August 2021, the Female Leaders of Tomorrow (FLOT) mentees, mentors and partners came together to catch up on the progress made within the project and to discuss next steps.
